Newport Audio was created as an answer to CAT dealers’ demands! CAT dealers, who enjoyed the superior audio performance, uniqueness, and client excitement, gratitude, and referrals that came from installing unrivaled CAT in-wall loudspeakers (armed with ultra high end proprietary CAT drivers, CAT MBX 105 alloy driver baffles, CAT crossovers, and CAT "HDF" enclosures), begged CAT engineers to give them an even more "affordable" solution that was far superior to the A/V industry standard cheap plastic in-wall speakers.
Cheap plastic in-wall speakers have plagued the world with cheap, plastic, clock radio sound for the past twenty years - "No highs, no lows" as the saying goes!
Though CAT in-walls are "affordable" for most clientele (starting @ around $1,000 ea. U.S. retail per loudspeaker), CAT dealers wanted a solution that was even less expensive and even easier to install. Thus, CAT engineers designed and manufactured the perfect solution to the demand, and Newport Audio was born!
Newport Audio is based on an aluminum chassis (not plastic). CAT engineers and manufacturers all proprietary Newport Audio drivers and CAT crossovers to rival most ultra high end freestanding loudspeakers costing 5 to 10 times more! Newport Audio high end drivers offer incredible audio dispersion that rivals the best high end freestanding loudspeakers! Thus, no longer is there a need to turn cheap drivers (w/ inferior dispersion patterns) toward you, nor is there a need to place louvers (that resemble HVAC returns) to "attempt" to disperse the sound. Have you ever had to turn your drivers on your high end freestanding loudspeakers toward you?
